about us

We have been a non-profit association based in Magdeburg since 1991. Founded as Aidshilfe Magdeburg, our areas of work have continually evolved, and today we are the Center for Sexual Health – Aidshilfe Sachsen-Anhalt Nord e.V. Our catchment area is the northern part of Saxony-Anhalt, comprising six districts and the state capital, Magdeburg.

We are not only an advocacy organization for people living with HIV and their families, but also a self-help organization and an advocate for the WHO's sexual rights. Our range of services includes HIV/STI prevention as well as information and counseling on a wide range of topics in sexuality education. In addition, our Checkpoint offers rapid and laboratory testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs). If we detect an infection, you can also receive treatment on-site with us.

As a specialist association, we serve as a point of contact for authorities, agencies, and other organizations and institutions. We are a member of AIDS-Hilfe Sachsen-Anhalt e.V., the German AIDS Service Organization (Deutsche Aidshilfe), the Paritätischer Landesverband, the German Society for Sex Education (Gesellschaft für Sexualpädagogik), and the Federal Association for Queer Education (Bundesverband Queere Bildung).

Aidshilfe Sachsen-Anhalt Nord e.V. is institutionally funded by the state of Saxony-Anhalt – specifically, the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs, Health, and Equality.
