Our peer support group "Beyond the Ribbon" is an open and free service for people living with HIV who would like to exchange experiences and discuss topics with others in a similar situation.

In a safe and respectful atmosphere, the group offers the opportunity to experience community, share perspectives, and support each other.

The group is designed as a relaxed peer support service. The focus is on meeting and connecting with others.

Is this for me?

The meeting is aimed at people living with HIV from northern Saxony-Anhalt, regardless of whether they have only recently received their diagnosis or have been living with HIV for many years.

Sharing experiences with others can help answer questions, gain new perspectives, and realise that you are not alone with your experiences and concerns.

What can I expect?

You can expect a place where you can simply be yourself.

Our group takes place in a safe and confidential setting. The meeting location is not publicly visible, allowing you to move freely and talk openly without worrying about unwanted encounters.

Every meeting is different. Sometimes there is a lot of laughter, sometimes experiences are shared or questions are discussed. There are no fixed topics and no expectations. You decide whether you simply want to listen or actively participate.

You can expect:

  • Open exchange between people living with HIV
  • Conversations about everyday life, health, treatment, and
  • living with HIV
  • Mutual support and networking
  • A relaxed atmosphere with food, drinks, and
  • time for personal connections
  • A confidential group with people who
  • share similar experiences
Where and when?

A trusted environment is important to make open conversations and personal connections possible.

Our group meets regularly in Magdeburg. We meet at a confidential location where you can feel welcome and exchange experiences with other people living with HIV in a relaxed atmosphere.

  • Where? The exact meeting location will be shared after prior contact for reasons of confidentiality.
  • When? We meet regularly. Information about upcoming meetings and current dates will be provided after registration.

Participation is free of charge and without obligation.

Your place at the table... Maybe now is the right moment to join us.

Contact us without obligation. We are happy to tell you more about the group, answer your questions, and explain everything about the next meeting.

We look forward to meeting you!

Why "Beyond the Ribbon"?

The red ribbon stands worldwide for solidarity, awareness, and education about HIV. But people living with HIV are much more than their diagnosis.

"Beyond the Ribbon" means: Behind the red ribbon are people with stories, experiences, hopes, and dreams. Our group creates space for connection, exchange, and community. Come, take a seat with us.
