People with HIV
A diagnosis of “HIV-positive” can be a profound turning point. For many people affected, it can feel as if the ground has been pulled from beneath their feet, and a new perspective on life may initially seem out of reach.
It is normal to need time to understand the situation. Some people react by withdrawing or suppressing the test result. In such moments, it is often difficult to find orientation and to talk to someone about personal worries and questions.
We are here for you and offer you exactly these contact persons!
Our services for people living with HIV and their relatives include:
- Counselling on coping with life with HIV and AIDS
- Support in building and stabilising social contacts
- Practical assistance with applying for social benefits
- Therapy-supportive counselling
- Aftercare following inpatient stays
- Consultation hours at the HIV outpatient clinic (University Hospital Magdeburg)
- And much more
You are not alone – we support you on your journey.
